The Minister of Industry and Trade, Moussa Alassane Diallo, has been visiting the country’s industrial plants since April. These visits took him, on May 13, to the Malian pharmaceutical products factory – UMPP. During this stage, the Minister spoke in particular about the “relaunch” of the company, which he described as “a crucial step towards pharmaceutical sovereignty”.<\/b><\/p>\n

Minister Diallo’s visit is part of ” <\/span>
\n the firm commitment of the highest authorities and the Malian people, notably through the recommendations of the Assises Nationales de la Refondation (ANR ), to revive this once proud but faltering institution. <\/span>
\n<\/i>“<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, the main objectives of the ministerial visit were to ” <\/span>
\n to see for themselves the state of equipment on site, and to verify and monitor the effectiveness of production already underway <\/span>
\n<\/i> “. After discussions with the plant manager and his team, the Minister first visited the production lines. He then went to the analysis laboratory and the storage warehouse, to ” <\/span>make a diagnosis<\/span><\/i> “. Given that, ” <\/span>production lines, although restarted, are in urgent need of modernization to meet international quality standards. The potential is there, with a full order book<\/span><\/i> “he reacted as he continued his tour.<\/span><\/p>\n

At each stage of the visit, the Minister reminded us of ” <\/span>
\n the imperative need for strict compliance with production standards, quality control and respect for specifications <\/span>
\n<\/i> “. Before evoking ” <\/span>major prospects for UMPP, notably the future creation of a pharmacopoeia production chain, which represents an essential diversification not only for the industry, but also for the Malian healthcare system. This potential expansion will open up new avenues to medical self-sufficiency, strengthening national health.<\/span><\/i> “<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of the visit, concrete measures were announced, including ” <\/span>
\n renewing equipment, facilitating tax incentives, which are crucial to guaranteeing high-quality, competitive production on the world market <\/span>
