France and Mali have suspended the issue of visas to each other’s nationals by their respective consular services in Bamako and Paris, against a backdrop of high bilateral and regional tensions, according to diplomatic sources quoted by AFP.
Earlier this week, France was the first country to suspend the issue of visas, having placed the whole of Mali, including Bamako, in a red zone, “formally inadvisable to travellers“.
